Meet our tour leader ( at the Winton Memorial Swimming Pool at 8.30am for a briefing before ‘tagging along’ behind Peter following the scenic Route of the River Gum Drive.

The drive includes 15 points of interest in the Winton shire, featuring Bladensburg National Park.  Formerly a grazing property, the park encompasses 85,000ha of Mitchell grass and channel country.  Great photo opportunities await with the park’s impressive backdrop of flat-topped plateaus and sandstone ranges. The park is home to wonderful birdlife as well as Red Kangaroos, Eastern Grey Kangaroos and Wallaroos. We’ll take the Scrammy Drive over black soil plains and through the spectacular jump-up country to a walking track leading to Scrammy Lookout – our smoko stop.

Explore Bladensburg Homestead and the surrounding historic buildings then head to our lunch stop at Bough Shed Waterhole with the opportunity for a swim or relax under the river red gums.

We’ll rejoin the River Gum Drive visiting Richard Craggs Grave, past dramatic rocky outcrops, beefwood and mulga trees.  Return to Winton at 4.00pm.  Time for a quick refresh before we take a drive to the stunning Rangelands for Sunset nibbles – a perfect spot to capture a memorable sunset.  (Note: you have the option to join our courtesy coach transfer to Rangelands for the Sunset conclusion to the tour)

Return to Winton at around 6.30pm.
